What To Expect On A Cruise

The excitement has set in and the count down has begun. Only a short time left until you are sailing the vast, open sea to an oasis of tropical bliss. The anticipation grows as you daydream of what your big adventure will entail.
The moment you sea your beautiful, gleaming ship docked at your home port, you will remember exactly why you chose to take a cruise vacation. The site is overwhelming and you will be eager to step aboard your glorious vessel and surrender to a world of complete escape.
As you enter the ship terminal you will be wholesomely greeted by cruise-line staff that will take your luggage and deliver it safely to your cabin. The cruise directors will introduce themselves and guide you to the next step in the embarkation process; checking in.
All of your cruise documents, proof of citizenship and a credit card will be needed at check-in to ensure a smooth and easy process. You will be issued a shipboard charge card that will serve as your ID, your room key and your mechanism for shipboard purchases. With all documents ready and prepared, this process should only take a few moments.
As you walk through the doors of your amazing ship you will be asked to pose for an embarkation picture by cruise ship personnel. This photo will be developed at the end of your cruise and available for purchase. You are now ready to find your cabin which will be smaller than you expected so be prepared. Whether you chose an inside cabin, ocean view cabin, balcony cabin, or penthouse suite, all the rooms are smaller than an average hotel but still sufficient enough for the essentials. You will notice your bags have arrived safely and you can proceed to the safety drill and embarkation party. Remember that tipping in not included so make sure to tip your cabin steward.
The safety drill will give you a run down of precautions in case of emergency. You will be given a life jacket and shown how to use it. Rescue boats, alarms, and safety equipment will all be tested for your protection. This will take about 30 minutes, and after it ends, it will be time to head down to the sail away party.
The party will probably feature live music, food and lots of people. Remember that all your food is included but drinks and spirits are an extra charge. As the ship sails away the excitement will grow. You have just begun your journey on the open sea.
You should by now have an assigned dinning time. Every night you will head down to the dining room to find a delicious menu of included meals. Order as much or as little as you like because it's all included. There will be two formal nights that require appropriate attire however, the rest of the days can be as casual and comfortable as you like.
At each port of call you will debark and return to the ship according the scheduled times of departure. During the days at sea there will be an endless amount of activities and entertainment that will keep you perfectly satisfied.
