One of the best ways to travel around the globe is by embarking on a cruise. Whether it's for a family vacation, a honeymoon, an anniversary, or just a new method of travel, cruises are a great way to see the world. One of the most widely used and popular cruise lines is Princess.
The company provides destination cruises to ports worldwide including Alaska, Hawaii, New England, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, Tahiti, the Mexican Riviera, and the Panama Canal.
The Princess Cruise line has been in business for 30 years since it was first introduced as the “Love Boat” in 1977. There are 17 different ships in the Princess fleet, and 2 ships are new to 2007: the Royal Princess and the Emerald Princess. Other ships include the Caribbean Princess, the Pacific Princess, the Coral Princess, the Regal Princess, the Crown Princess, the Sapphire Princess, the Diamond Princess, the Sea Princess, the Star Princess, and the Island Princess.
The price of a Princess Cruise varies depending on a number of factors such as destination and the length of the trip. For instance, a 7-night trip from Vancouver to Alaska costs between $750 to $3,000, and a 7-night trip from Whittier to Alaska costs anywhere $900 to $950. Princess Cruise lines have trips 7 to 30 nights, and passengers are not out to sea more than a day or two before stopping at a port.
Aboard every ship there are a wide variety of activities. For instance, on the Caribbean Princess passengers have several dining options: Traditional, where each meal is served daily at the same time; Anytime, where one can eat when and where one would like; Specialty, which allows passengers to eat in one of the gourmet restaurants; or Casual, which allows passengers to eat at one of the ships small dining areas. The Princess Cruise ships do have dress requirements for dinner: smart casual or formal. It's important for passengers to check for dress codes and pack appropriately.
Princess Cruise ships have movie theaters, lounges, and hot spots, which includes casinos, karaoke, and night clubs. Other activities include an exercise area, a number of pools, a wedding chapel, a library, and a few boutiques. Basically, a cruise ship contains just about anything one's heart might desire, including activities for teens and children.
For any costs that are not included with the initial price (like alcoholic beverages), Princess Cruise lines make it incredibly easy to pay for later, that way passengers don‘t need to worry about bringing cash aboard the cruise ship. The charge is simply made to the stateroom, like charging to the room in a hotel.
Princess Cruise lines shore excursions include museums, scenic drives, horseback riding, dog sledding, and canoeing. Of course, those are in addition to the initial cost of the Princess Cruise line. For passengers who are uninterested in the additional excursions, there are other options. On the Alaskan Cruise, passengers might opt to take a closer look at the glaciers, or on a European Cruise, they might simply wander the cities checking out the restaurants or admiring the buildings. Since each Princess Cruise line stops at different ports, the activities are always different.
The best part of the Princess Cruise ships is they are designed to cater directly to the customer, so the passenger can spend their time doing whatever he or she wants, whether that's trying something new or simply relaxing. Whichever Princess Cruise line a passenger chooses, the passenger will always find comfort and fun.
