Viking River Cruises

Looking for a cruise vacation in an exotic destination, but exhausted all of the ocean-based cruises offered at Carnival or Royal Caribbean? If so, then look no further than Viking River Cruises. River cruises are mostly overlooked, but Viking River Cruises are comparably priced to longer ocean cruises and offer similar amenities, yet they take the cruiser to exciting places such as Russia.

Viking River Cruises is the world's largest river cruise line. Viking River Cruises boast that rivers are better for cruising because of the stunning scenery instead of miles and miles of solely water. Viking River Cruises must be doing something right because in 2007 it was named to Condé Nast's esteemed Gold List, which is based entirely on consumer votes.

Viking River Cruises offers two packages for Russia. One is an All-inclusive Cruise tour with Sightseeing tours. The second is an All-inclusive Cruise tour with Sightseeing tours plus Roundtrip Air. All-inclusive cruises to Russia through Viking River Cruises include the cost of the cruise, shore tours, deluxe cabins, and gourmet foods.

A typical day at port will include either a walking tour, city tour, or an excursion. Guests get the opportunity to see famous locales and landmarks such as the Kremlin, Red Square, GUM department store, and the Moscow Circus. Some days are filled with scenic cruising that provides majestic views of the cities in all of their splendor. Ports of call include: Moscow, Yaroslavl, St. Petersburg, and Uglich. Rivers traveled include the Nova and Volga Rivers.

Viking River Cruises offer 10, 11, and 14 night cruises to Russia primarily from April through October. A 10-night cruise with Viking River Cruises without airfare puts a dent in the proverbial wallet of $2,199-$5,499. A Viking River Cruise plus airfare changes the price to $3,594-$6,894.
An 11-night cruise is only a bit more costly than a 10-day cruise. A cruise without airfare is $2,499-$5,799, and a cruise with airfare boosts the price to the $3,894-$7,194 range.

The 14-night cruise is well priced at $2,199-$5,799 without airfare, or $3,594-7,194 with airfare.
Viking River Cruises also provides passengers with more time in port in comparison to cruise lines. This allows the cruiser to enjoy and experience the cities, culture, and scenery.

Upgrades to business class on any length cruise with Viking River Cruises are $2,900 in addition to the cost of the cruise. Extended stays are also available for the 10 and 11 night cruises for $749 plus the cost of the initial cruise. These extended stays are 3 nights in Helsinki. The cost includes a hotel, the Helsinki tour, a full day in Tallin, and an Estonia excursion.

Although many of the cruisers are in the 55+ age bracket, people of any age can partake in a Viking River Cruise to Russia. It doesn't take age and wisdom to appreciate the majestic country and culture that is Russia. Viking River Cruises to Russia are small and intimate, so each cruiser that comes aboard leaves with new friends and great cultural experiences.
