Ever dreamed about a vacation to Europe just to sight-see and shop, but found it too expensive? If the cost of going on a lavish vacation puts out a red flag, then look no further. A Mediterranean cruise is filled with historic and glamorous ports of call, and everything on the ship minus alcohol and souvenirs is all-inclusive.

Going on a Mediterranean cruise is a money-wise decision. Instead of shelling out major bucks for airfare, hotels, food, and extras, a cruise inclusive Mediterranean encompasses all of that into one very cost-efficient package. Many popular major cruise lines that offer cruises to the Mediterranean include Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, and Disney Cruise Line.

Carnival Mediterranean cruises are a recent development with an inaugural sail date occurring in March of 2007. Carnival offers two itineraries for a cruise to the Mediterranean: Greek Isles Plus Mediterranean Cruises and a Grand Mediterranean Cruise. Carnival cruise packages last 12 days with prices starting at $1,349 to $3,749 for two cruisers. Ports of call include: Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples and Livorno, Italy; Rhodes, Athens, and Katakolon, Greece; and Izmir and Istanbul, Turkey.

Royal Caribbean offers travelers a choice between a 6-night or 7-night Mediterranean cruise. These cruises begin in June and end in September. The 6-night cruise begins at $849 for an interior suite and ranges up to $2,049 for a Deluxe and Suite. The 7-night cruise ranges from $1,299 for an interior suite to $2,299 for the Deluxe and Suite. Ports of call include Italy, France, and Greece.

Disney Cruise Line offers a unique family oriented Mediterranean cruise. Information for this cruise would have one believe that the cruise is based around children and children's activities. Although there are activities that keep the children occupied for most of the day, there are also separate activities for adults and teens.

Disney offers a 10-night cruise or an 11-night cruise. A Mediterranean cruise review has shown that Disney offers stellar services and an enjoyable cruise experience. A 10-night Mediterranean cruise for two will set a couple back $6690.02 - $10,690.02. An 11-night cruise generally falls into the same price point, ranging from $5690.02 to $10,690.02. Disney ports of call are: Barcelona, Spain; Palermo, Sicily; Naples (Pompeii), Italy; Olbia, Sardinia; Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy; La Spezia (Florence, Pisa), Italy; Marseille, France; and Villefranche (Monte Carlo, Cannes, and Nice), France.

The best way to decide on a Cruise line is to read cruise reviews. Cruise reviews can provide Mediterranean cruise info such as the quality of amenities on board, which excursions are worth the extra cash, ages of people who usually take the cruise, best times to go, and which cruise line is better. Reviews are usually posted by both seasoned cruisers and first-timers alike. Popular websites that provide cruise reviews are Cruisecritic.com and Cruisereviews.com.

Mediterranean cruises allow travelers to experience the beauty and culture of the area while saving money at the same time. Before deciding on a cruise, travelers should check out a Mediterranean cruise reviews to see what others have to say about a similar experience. Mediterranean cruise information will help the cruiser to make an educated decision about which cruise line or package to select.
